Today was "curry rice" and blueberry pancakes. What I didn't understand was all the kids tried to get rid of the pancakes. They were a little dry, but still pretty good considering it's Korea. They hated them. To each their own. Kids also hate mint chocolate here.

Second, I found an advantage of confucianism. There were only a few bananas left at the end, and everyone wanted one. So they just said the grade 6s get it because they are older. Now while this is nothing new compared to back home, the absolute 0 complaining or fussing about it and complete acceptance was shocking.

What was this, National Curry Rice at School Day? We had it, too. But mandoo, not blueberry pancakes.

Luches are so hit and miss, today was some kind of spicy meat which was good, but they had friggin octopus through it!, i was a bit dissapointed really because the meat was good but putting octopus through it was criminal. Next was some salad, which looked ok, but the ajumma was digging it out with her hands, squeezing it for good luck and putting it on the kids plates, i just shook my head, she looked at me like "why not?", i would have had it but the way she squezzed each handfull just turned me off. Then there was some watery soup which i passed up on and finally a dollop of rice. There was also some mayonaise for the salad, but i just got a big dollop and put it on the rice, the ajummas were aghast!, i'm thinking, "yeah thats a little wrong but you dont see anything wrong with lashing pork and octopuis together?".

Jamie oliver would have a fit.

At my country school (MWF) We had bibimbap, doenjang kuk, kimchi, sort of potato croquettes and lots of grapes.

Lunch is delivered because the school is too small to have a cook. The teachers don't eat with the kids.

uuuuggghhhh, Today was crap, all i could eat was the rice and the kimchi. They had some nice fried fish but the ajumma only gave me one little piece. I usually dont eat breakfast so i look forward to lunch and when it turns out horrible i go through a few seconds of feeling kinda peed off, because im hungry i guess.

Hmm...curry day today.Thursday.Mine had some chicken.And mixed veg.

Odd thing was sticky rice poppadoms.

Passed on the macaroni salad soup.

When's chicken day,I wonder?How about for you bigger city folk?

They have these things planned out on a monthly schedule. I have one taped to my wall. You should ask for one, though I am sort of lucky that I get all the same things other teachers get as I have a drawer right with all the teachers

Today I got a most pleasant surprise at lunch time. I did my usual just-grab-a-load-of-it-and-see-how-it-goes, and found myself chewing on something remarkably similair to black pudding (one of my all time fave things). When I enquired what I was actually eating, one of the teachers confirmed that it was indeed, heaven be praised, pigs blood!!
