It's FINALLY over. Today was the last day of the worst class I've had to endure thus far. Let me give you the details.

The title of the class was "Shane's Glee Club", which I cunningly devised, knowing that any type of club has cachet in Korea (I'm Shane--Hello, how are you?). It was started for the purpose of filling the void known as "summer vacation".

For this course, I had to come in to work an extra hour early each day. That means arriving at 1 instead of 2. !!! Already, I can see your face blushing in anger.

In this class, I had to.. PLAY GAMES! There was Monopoly Junior, Guess Who, Go Fish, Pictionary, Clue.. madness! Three times a week for an entire month, I was forced to play games with 9-year-olds. There were at least three occasions where I proved to them my superiority. At Boggle and Upwords, I owned them, no doubt about it.

To make things worse, my boss decided he should put more money than usual in my monthly pay, despite the fact that I was still under the contracted limit of hours. What's with that? Didn't he realize that would make me pay more taxes?

So today was the last day. It's an indescribable feeling of relief. No more listening to dice clattering on a table or watching children use game tokens to initiate mock battles en plastique.

Whew.

I bet it was actually close.

Congrats on surviving what must have been just a month of hagwon hell! Smile

Edit: Hopefully for a few more laughs

Funny, I also finished my worst class for at least the past 12 months yesterday. Hoorah! Fanfare of relief!!

Probably, the worst class was the very last one - I had a student who began singing the Black Eyed Peas' 'Shut Up' while another student, who they had made it clear they disliked from the word go, was talking. (This class is 'adults'!!!) It was really stressful for me trying to prevent either side from throwing punches at the other during just about every session.

It's over!!!!
