|
|
Ive been in Seoul about 6 months now and ive plowed through everything at the english book exchange near my place (I live in Haebangchon). There is a used book store near my place, but im not keen on buying old, used books for the same price one would normally pay for something new.
im sure there are bookstores that stock new books in english...but where are they??
i appreciate the help. |

kyobo bookstore has a section dedicated to foreign books (at least the main branch does). their prices are decent i guess... they also have a special going on for penguin classics @ 5,900won.

you can get there by taking subway line 5 and getting off at gwanghuamoon station (광화문)
good luck |

| The Kyobo bookstore at Gangnam station (in the basement of the big, red Kyobo Tower) has a decent selection. Also, Youngpoong bookstore in Central City (Express Bus Terminal) has a really good selection. |

| I was at Kyobo bookstore (downtown location) the day before yesterday and was impressed with both the selection and prices. They don't mark them up that much more than what you'd pay back home. maybe 15% ~ 20% more. Good considering the shipping costs. |

| Everything I've bought from Kyobo has been bloody expensive... twenty or thirty thousand won each. I guess paperbacks must be cheaper. What the Book is pretty cheap, and has an okay selection, and you can get a reasonable amount of credit for reselling books there after you're done reading them. I only use Kyobo now for things like Korean study books or specific books that I haven't been able to find at What the Book. |
