You know what I'm talking about? You pull money out to pay for whatever and you proceed to smooth bills out that are folded up or crumpled in your pocket. Every time, it seems, the cashier acts impatient while your doing this and it's uncomfortable. They always seem impatient. Most don't seem to care if you smooth them out for them.
Well, today I went to Hanoro Mart in my small town. I smoothed the bills out for the lady, but she gave me *beep* for not folding out the corners on one or two of them. I had purposely flattened out 5 1000 Won bills and she gave me *beep* for a couple of corners. I just said, "Sorry". Not that it's a big deal, but I just have to wonder about attitudes towards a paying customer. Next time I'll roll them in a ball (if I recognize her) and tell her in Korean that I'm sorry but she'll have to flatten them out herself because I'm in a hurry. |

Are you like 8 years old or something? You just shove money into your pockets? |

Yes. I usually have like 500,000 Won in my pocket. The 1000s and 5000s are mixed with 10,000s, but the 10,000 are usually in a nice folded stack where I can just snap the bills out or count them with hand in pocket. Pocket pool style. A lot of times though, I'm pulling the whole wad out and counting it with my back turned to the cashier. |

This is off topic. Sorry. One minute ago I logged on and saw a thread "Is this a Korean name?" The op asked if Lim Chong Hin was a Korean name or not??? I was replying that indeed it was, or could be, when suddenly the thread didappeared!! I am a new poster so maybe there are some messageboard politics with which I am not au fait. Anyone able to shed some light??? |

Either you saw the thread or you didn't? Why are you so bored with your life that you need to write a stupid, sarcastic answer to a totally innocent, valid question? |

I looked for it, but my search didn't work. I said, "Sorry", but you did, in fact, hijack this wonderful thread. |

have you ever considered the possibility that there are times when no response is required? or are you really that hung up on yourself? |

I do too. In North America I kept my money in my wallet but since I don't use any of my North American credit cards here, I've probably judged it's pointless to have my wallet handy. I just keep it deep in my backpack. The problem with wallets is when you lose your wallet. Then you lose your life. I just keep my won in my pocket. |

Me too...I am 38 and put my money in my pocket. I have for years and often with the kids pulling at my shirt and the bags sitting on the counter with someone behind me...I am very likely to shove the money in my pocket. |

Yes, I did consider that, but it was late. Thanks for the response. |

I use a huge oversized wallet, that no one would even dare to carry around, let alone steal.
Let's say it is easy that way to keep my money , it is like 4 times the size of a normal wallet. |

Well I do often end up putting change in my pocket.
Normally because if I take the time to put it away in my wallet the person behind me is shoving me out of the way or has trampled me like I was at a Who concert.
Typical shopping at E-mart:
1. Get stuff out of my cart only to have the person behind me trying to shove their cart up my behind. All the while restacking my stuff so they can get their one bag of kim on the counter to stake their claim on the checkout space.
2. I am trying to watch the scans and bag my stuff. Person behind me is still assuming I want to mate anally with their cart.
3. Checker tells me amount and I get the cash out. People behind have started pulling out the credit cards and have shoved me aside before I pay. (Miss Jade plants feet and becomes the immovable object).
4. Teeth sucking ensues. More nudging, more pushing. I am trying to get groceries or whatever bagged and get out the the way. Give up and shove money in my pocket and leave before killing lady behind me.
5. At the "supa" getting some milk and sundries. Old guy shoves in front of me demanding cigs. Throws money on the counter. Depending on mood I deal or shove his money aside and mumble and suck teeth and pay for my stuff first. Again shoving my money in my pocket so as to keep ajosshi from imploding for having to wait 35 seconds.
Hence money in my pocket and crumpled bills.
