I hate my hagwon and am scheduled to get my last paycheck and bonus 3-4 days before my actual contract ends. I've purchased my own ticket home and am very tempted to just bounce the 3-4 days early (as soon as I get all my money!). I plan to go to the pension office before I leave but wanted to see if anyone knew if the school could do anything to would prevent me from getting my pension if I left 3-4 days before the end of my contract ?
Thanks for any and all help.

What's the big deal about waiting three or four more days? After almost a year, it seems silly to leave a few days early and risk not getting what you are owed.

Did I mention I HATE my job and don't really like Korea? Honestly- I want out as soon as I can. If it means risking my pension- nope won't do it but if that's not a possibility- then i'm out. When you're not happy 3-4 days is a big deal.

Can a school do anything anyway to prevent you from getting pension? Once it's been paid, it's been paid, no? Then it's just between you and the pension office?

That's what i'm trying to figure out. I am just wondering if the school could call the pension office and say I didn't finish my contract, and therefore somehow stop my pension from being transferred into my home acct. Hopefully- it wouldn't matter and as soon as my contract ended it would be paid to me. But i'm not quite sure. I hope you're right tho'- that it is just between me and the pension office!

If your money is already in the system, then they can't touch it.

The only thing you have to worry about is if your school contributed to the pension. Some schools don't and pocket the money.

Once your school deposits a pension contribution, it is only accessible by you.
But, if you're leaving early, which is not a mature, or responsible thing to do, you better hope they have already deposited your money.

Once again, try to stick it out until you've finished your contract. You chose them, they didn't choose you.
