I am a late hire to the EPIK program. The orientation is scheduled to begin in Seoul tomorrow and end on Friday Sept. 1st. I will apply for my E-2 visa tomorrow in Bangkok. There are a few things I would still like to do here in Thailand (such as see a dentist and have some clothes made). I can also plan my flight to transfer from Seoul to Busan easily if I skip the orientation.
How worthwhile is the EPIK Orientation. Should I rush to catch the last day or two of the orientation or should I just report directly to my school on Sept. 1st? |

As I understand it if you fail to show you may not get to work. Call the organizer Ms. Chung, pronto! |

Yes, my contract says the orientation is mandatory, but it also says it can be waved if there is a need to fill a vacancy.
Could you be a little more specific. It sounds kind of like the old joke with the punch line contact Mr. Lee in China. Is this person part of EPIK program recruiting, the orientation or a school district?
Thanks |

Personally, I was also a late hire and never required to attend orientation, but it doesn't hurt to confirm with the school/recruiter... |
