So it is time to pay the gas and phone bill... My Korean friend claims I can just go to an atm and slip in the bills and my card and it will somehow get done.... but I think something may have been lost in translation so can someone give me some details? Can it be at any atm or just my bank's atms?

I don't think you are ready for ATM paying.

Take your bills to your local bank/post office (ANY!!!), stand in line, hand over the bills and some money and voila! You are done for the month.

I really mean it. ANY post office or bank will accept payment for your bills.

Take them into work, hand 'em over to the secretary and let her take care of it for you. Have it docked from the next month's pay. Works like a charm, everytime!

Not all banks will accept every bill. Somewhere on each bill it should say which banks will take it. It's also possible to pay at some convenience stores.

I pay all my bills at my bank, KB Bank.
There are machines specifically set aside for this purpose or you can pay them over the counter at the bank.

Bob's right:
take all the paperwork and bills to your admin office and let the cute girl take care of it. then you got a reason to ask her out to dinner as an "appreciation" for her work.

Thanks for the correction, HD. I wasn't aware of any limitation.

Not all banks will accept your bills but all post offices will...and it is usually quicker than in the bank anyway

the receptionist/secretary was always willing to take care of it for me. but, a bank was next door, so it was really convenient for her.
