Hello All. I've been following this forum for quite some time and it has helped me out a lot before and after coming to Seoul. I've been over here for some time and I finally broke down and bought a bed. However, I must say that I can't seem to find bed sheets over here. Can anyone give me any tips on places to procure them or should I just get someone to send them to me from home?

Thanks

Get someone from home to send them. But measure your bed first, the sizes can be different.

Basically a 'bedsheet' in Korea is considered a matress cover at home. They don't use topsheets, they simply use a blanket... If you are OK with that just go to any department store and you'll find lots of them. Otherwise, order them or have someone send them to you. BTW what did you use before?

I bought some sheets at E-mart. They're an awful colour (bottom one is pink, top is baby blue), and I paid a LOT for them, but they are WAY better than the ugly ugly mattress cover/quilt combo that was here, they dry faster after washing, I'm more comfortable, etc, etc, etc.

The search function on this forum is really handy, try this:

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=62174&highlight=

There's a store called Muji that sell tons of sheets. There's 3 locations in Seoul (http://www.mujikorea.net/_store/store.asp?menu=store1).

I think on average, they sell sheets at around 30-40,000 Won.
One store is on the first floor at Lotte Youth in Myeongdong - Euljiro 1-ga station (line2), Exit 7, walk straight. The other is on the first floor in the Lotte dept store/Lotte World in Jamsil - Jamsil station (line2), Exit 4.

I got these which are just the fitted sheet, no flat. The price is very good and the quality is really not bad considering the price.

Also they have a fitted mattress pad which is nicely quilted, and the price is very reasonable.

There are other choices to be found on the same site if you can read some korean.

good luck

I slept on and am actively searching for basically two thin (flat) sheets: One to put over the mattress and the other to put over... well... me Wink
I am actually rather surprised (as was one of my friends who happens to be Korean) of the unavailability of thin sheets. I checked Lotte Department Store and they seem to only have only those thick pads with ghastly awful patterns on them coupled with being quite expensive and looking rather uncomfortable. In any event, I'll try the stores that everyone mentioned. Thanks a lot everyone.
