|
|
I'm going to have my bro send over (from the UK) my motherboard, LAN card and graphics card (all the lighter stuff to save on shipping costs). I'll buy the case, power supply and HDD over here and then hopefully put it back together when it gets here. In theory this seems simple but is it likely to be a difficult job?
I know how to install the HDD, DVD-ROM and the cards, but my main concern is the power supply. I don't want to plug into the mains unless I can be sure it's not going to go up in smoke! Would it be better to send over the power supply already connected, or would it be safe to buy one here?
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Everything plugs in with idiot proof plugs that only go one way and in one place.
No worries. Buy it here cause it is heavy and expensive to ship, It would almost cost more for shipping a PS that it would to buy a new one (35,000 won). |

As far as I'm aware, the UK uses 220V or somesuch, as does Korea. The plug shape is different, so you just need to get a new power cable, at a cost of a couple of thousand won.
Power supplies are quite cheap over here, as long as you're not looking at getting something high performance. It's probably not worth the postage cost for a power supply, to be honest.
