My feminine fantastique told me a story about when she went to Spain last month with her parents. This is a short story, but it's stranger than anything I've heard about in Korea, or anywhere else for that matter.

She was walking along, and spotted up ahead a man completely nude, just casually walking down the street. No shoes, no sandals.. no belt Here's the weirder part: he was walking alongside another man, apparently a friend, who was pushing a bicycle. It wasn't a matter of streaking, but merely a man walking completely nude in downtown Barcelona.

Is this normal Spanish custom? She said there were no other publc nudists that she saw during her trip. Personally, I find it hilarious. How can you walk blithely along the road with a guy who's naked, just strolling down the sidewalk? It's so weird.

There's a village in Quebec that has nude day once a year. Unfortunately, I saw it on the French news before I went to late immersion, so my French wasn't really good enough for any more info.

North Americans (outside of new immigrants) are prudes Wink

You omitted the part about the nude guy carrying two cups of coffee and a dozen donuts.

We have nude day in NZ. It was set up by a cocaine addict former rugby player. Think naked raindeer.....hmmm...on a chilly Dunedin day it makes for some interesting viewing.
It's usually just drunk students who actually get involved, not everybody in NZ gets naked on that day.

Yeah there are nude events in many countries, I think, but what was so bizarre to me about the Spanish spectacle in the OP is that there was no special event. He was just casually walking along with a friend as if everything was just normal. That's hard for me to wrap my mind around.

Btw, the gf said he was pretty good-looking, and had a large bingy wingy. Maybe he was just showing off the goods?

what day is that? Cool

The only US equivalent I could think of might be 'Burning Man' in the deserts of Nevada/California.. or the Rainbow Gatherings (which travel around to various parts of the country in their festivals).

There are some colleges which host (or did in the past) naked marathons and the like.

The only comment I have to make here is a quote by
John Cleese:

I'm having trouble believing a grown man would use a phrase like this one

Haha.. nah, didn't think it was a custom. I've never seen such a thing, though. So it's pretty common for people to just walk around naked like everything's cool? As I heard it, the guy in the story was drawing a lot of stares from people, which makes me think it's unusual.

Laughing I was trying to coin a new term. You don't like it?

What? According to Naver, 애교 means charm or wit. Do you think bingy wingy is a charming term to use? Razz
