My canary only sings when I have water running in the kitchen sink . And, the harder the water runs, the louder he sings. What's up with that? I want to hear him sing without the water interferring. |

I have a rather simple solution for you. First, tape record the sound of the water running in the kitchen sink. Then, put some little headphones on the canary's head and let him listen to the sound. You won't hear it; you'll only hear the sound of him singing.
You're welcome. |

| Please be careful. My dad's canary had gangreen and it had to have its leg amputated. It was fine with one leg but apparantly gangreen can be common for canaries. He may be in pain right now. |

No pain. Right after I posted about his toe, I went back upstairs to my appartment. He was dead.
Their legs and toes are so thin I often woundered how they kept from breaking. So, they probably can get injured very easy, get an infection and die. I guess I should stick to chickens. |

Last week I also got a *beep*. The man at the bird store had a huge cage outside with about 50. All but one would hiss at me and try to bite. I had one for years in Ohio I got at K-Mart. It was always evil. Just like 49 in that cage. The bars were wide enough they could put their head out. They all tried to bite me. Then this one put out his head. I slowly put my finger closer and closer. Then he bowed down. I scratched him behind the ear like a cat. He loved it. I think he was even purring. Then the owner came out. She shooed back the other 49 so he could open the door. The other 49 would have flown away for good. He pointed to the one I was petting and he said. "He very special". Then that one got on his finger. Then he put it on my finger. And, now I have a new best friend. We can go outside in the big grass yard in front of my dorm and play. He will not fly away. He follows me aroung and if I put out my finger he flies up and lands on it. If I did not know better, I would swear he was a chicken. |

What about in pigeons? I always see a lot of one legged pigeons almost everywhere I see pigeons. Is this why? |
