This article really hit home with me, because I'm always being told I "rook rike movie star" (no one tells me what movie star though).
So yesterday I'm at the gym and there was a Korean girl/woman/whatever term you prefer working out who looked, to me anyway, strikingly similar to Lee Hyori. I approached her between sets, and this is how the conversation went:
Me: "Excuse me, do you speak English?"
이효리: "No"
Me: "Oh, well anyway: do you know 이효리?"
이효리: (confused look)
Me: "이효리? The singer...?" (making a microphone gesture)
이효리: "Oh, 이효리?" (her tone indicated she knew who I was referring to)
Me: "Yeah. Anyway, you, 이효리... same!" (gesticulating with each word)
이효리: "진짜?"
Me: "진짜"
I then walked away to the machine I had been using, looking back once and smiling at her look of puzzlement.
It was fun! |

She's probably dancing on air as we speak ("A foreign movie star thinks I look like 이효리"). Either that, or that you had a unique way of trying to pick her up (flatter her, then abruptly walk away).
If she looks like 이효리 without makeup (I'm guessing that she doesn't wear makeup while sweating during a workout, but I'm only guessing), then she probably looks more like 이효리 than 이효리 herself. |
