I've read quite a lot of posts that say its really easy to find a yudo gym in Korea, so far though I've been unable to find one. I'd go to the BJJ place in Apgujeong but its too far and I can only get there once or twice a week...the team tackle gym is 15 minutes from my apartment but I went there today and they wanted 120,000won per month and a one-off 50,000won joining fee on top of that, which I'm not prepared to pay.
I don't think I'm ever going to be in any kind of MMA competition anyway and just want to do some Judo to stay fit.
I live near Hanti Station, in Yeoksam-Dong, Gangnam-Gu, does any body know of anywhere? If you can help that'd be lovely.
Also, does anybody know where to buy cheap plastic toy cameras, not nessecarily a holga or lomo but just something a bit quirky, cheap and cheerful.
My email is [email protected]
cheers.

Well, I do know of a Yudo gym about 5 minutes walk from GyoDae sation. I don't think that's too far away from where you live. Also the master of the gym speaks enough English to explain the techinques.
Now I'm a little fuzy on the directions. I beleive if you get off at exit 6 (that should be the one that gets you out right next to the university there) cross the street and walk away from the university you should approach an international school after a bit. The Judo gym is right close to there.
Of course, what I really suggest doing is asking a Korean teacher at your school to do a search of Yudo and the area that you live in on Naver. That should bring up a nice list of places close by.
Anyways, I know the directions are a little weak (it was close to a year ago and I only checked the place out because I was considering taking a job there) but I hope it helps. |
