Is anyone interested in getting involved in an NHL hockey pool?

I'm trying to judge how much interest there is.... Back home I usually hold a draft night a few days before the start of the season and depending on how many people we can get for this thing each person drafts 10-20 players.

I'm open to holding this competition for money, maybe 20 000 won, or just for fun, it's up to those who are interested.

If you're interested send me a reply... Ideally I'd like to have at least 10 people.

A

I'm sure this is the Leafs year to win the Cup. Rolling Eyes
The Flyers, Bruins, and Blackhawks will trade for guys who will miss least 40-60 games each with injuries. Rolling Eyes
The Finals will feature two teams from the smallest markets, with no real fan bases, and nobody will care who wins the Cup (just like 2006!). Rolling Eyes

What do I win?

I'm definitely in. I also know someone who doesn't post here but would definitely be in on the pool... he'll probably school us all, lol. PM me if it get sorted out. I'm moving this weeekend though, so I may not be easy to reach for a week or so.

Go Leafs Go (yes I know, I support a team that has no reason to win the cup, and a team that may not deserve the loyalty we give 'em, but they're still my boys!)

Obviously you've never met anyone from Edmonton or watched the finals last year. However, since you made fun of the Leafs I will forgive your ignorance.

I dare not post who I root for lest I become a target of scorn. Suffice it to say I support all Canadian teams, except the Leafs who I wish great embarassment and humiliation upon.

Oh, alright. Go Habs Go!

Thanks for all the interest guys. I'll post further details regarding rules, the draft location, and general information as we get closer to the start of the season.

Generally I like to hold the draft as close to the first game as possible since I have had players injured a week before the season started and lost them for the entire season.

Check the post often, I will post the rules of the pool very soon.

What system are you using? Are you going to set it up yourself or use one of the online fantasy... things... yah, I can't remember the right word right now.

The site I usually use is www.officepools.com. It updates the scoring within a couple hours of the end of a game, and it is fairly cheap, around $20 Canadian... so divided among all the participants it is cheap.

If you want you can check out the scoring system/results of my pool last year, the username is b2hockey. The password is guest.

Just as an aside -- haven't decided if I'm interested in a pool, because generally I suck at such things -- but I cared who won this year and was in fact at Game 7 of the Finals.

I do enjoy having the Cup in the south.

Sorry- my post was more about the sad state of the NHL- put there through greed from the players and owners.
