This question is for guys like Mr. Squirrel who have wives from Southeast Asia:
Do the locals here still look upset and bark things to your woman for being with a non-Asian, or do they let it slide since she's not Korean? |

Heaps of Korean men are marrying women from vietnam etc. so it'd be pretty hypocritical if there were any said anything negative to a whitie in the same boat |

If I understand your question properly, nope, not a problem... Sure, they look but nobody ever says anything. Actually, don't think ole Squirrels presently in a position to answer your question... |

While I agree that it would be hypocritical, heaps of Korean men date Korean women, but people still get upset if I do the exact same thing. They haven't been as mean about it lately, since I've been clean-shaven.
I'm going to Vietnam as soon as my contract ends in June to visit my favorite girlfriend and look for a job. But if I can't find a good one there, I might bring her up here, but I don't want to put her in a hostile environment.

That's great that you're not getting hassled with your chick. Where's she from? And why can't Squirrel reply? I thought his wife is Thai. |

True that just because something is hyprocritical doesn't mean it won't happen. Personally I've never had any problems when walking around korea with asian women, korean or otherwise. |

My wife is from China and everyone looks at her like she is from another planet. Sometimes I wonder if she is from another planet. She is not your typical asain lady.
Yesterday we went to a festival to celebrate The 41st King Danjong Festival.
She was wearing a baseball cap backwards. over sized t-shirt, bluejeans, and glasses. Then to top it off she had two cameras hanging around her neck.
She had about 2,000 people that could not keep their eyes off her. Then to top it all off she was hanging around a white guy.
All the Korean love my wife no matter how funky she dresses. |

As long as I don't see cartoon character clothing I'm happy, however any sign of Mickey and Co. and I'm off. |

My wife is Thai-Khmer from Issan. We've been here in a small city for more than a year. She still gets a lot of stares, more than I do, but she's learned to laugh it off. Nearly all Koreans that we meet are friendly and curious and tell her that she's beautiful. I couldn't agree more. |

My wife is from Indonesia and while we get a few stares, there has been none of the malicious 'what are you doing with the waygook' stuff that some of my Korean-girl-dating mates have got. Now we have a baby, I find we attract a bit more interest; people are keen to see how our son looks. |
