One thing I have never understood. Why would ONLY Jews be offended? Be careful, I am not saying why would Jews be offended (as that would be obvious), but only them. A whole lot of soldiers and civilians of various countries and religions died in that horrible war.
Still, I agree with VanIslander. There is a fine line between bad taste and rememberance (education), and I would rather upset 15 million Jews than have the atrocities that happened forgot and possibly repeated due to being PC. |

| I don't mind the shots of Nazis, but to show concentration camp inmates in a humourous setting is WAY WAY out of line, in my book. There are still living survivors. That hilarious starving figure performing jumping jacks could be someone's grandmother. Too bad the comments on that film don't rise much about the level of "Hitler was a F*G!" |

Sorry, Kermo...
I just watched the clip and the 'humorous' shot of jumping jacksters I took to be Nazi youth in holiday camp mode. If they were inmates there's no end of controversy to be had. I doubt anyone in broadcasting (especially in Germany) would make that mistake.
The Germans have to get over the fact that Nazism and the holocaust came from their country, their grandparents... I'm guessing this is one of the first akward attempts at doing so.
Not in bad taste at all...just a very different context to watch Nazis than we're used to. |

I guess I could watch it again, but those jumping jacksters looked disturbingly skinny to me. There was previous shot of someone being thrown in the air that looked like someone starved as well. Anyvun else viss a comment (a la German sharpshooters in "Three Amigos")? |

Do not forget that before each world war there were economic set backs that helped amplify the speed and effect of the World Wars. |

Part of the problem is that europeans have got a lot fatter on average since the sparten years of the war... I think they are all nazi-youth rather than victims. |

I agree with the others Kermo. I can see how you thought what you did, and that would be pretty crappy taste. But I don't think they did. Heck, I don't think they would have dared to even if they had wanted to |

Ok, I'm happy not to be offended then. Nazis portrayed in a silly way is nothing to get in a snit about. |

I wish I had that clip when I was teaching my kids the YMCA song.
There's nothing wrong with mocking something so stupid in that way. During the war mocking Hitler was a common coping mechanism. |

No, they don't have to get over it... thats exactly why I can't stand Germans. All I ever hear is how it wasn't their fault, blah, blah, blah.
What I want is very simple... a picture of Hitler on their flag and an inscription under it that says "We think he was a douchebag too, sorry".
I'm serious. If I were German the first thing I'd say after shaking a new hand and introducing myself would be, "Just to clear the air, we hate that bastard too"... and then there'd be no future tension. Hell I'd even get it on a tattoo. |

My experience with Germans is the exact opposite. The Germans I know acknowledge their past and are ashamed by it. But instead of hiding from it, they teach their children so that it won't happen again. |
