Last night I was at Stompers and a couple of other bars, I noticed Western chicks were giving me dirty looks and shaking their head when they saw I was only dancing with Asian girls in a bar that was prob 70/30 Asian to Caucasian. Do you guys hate Westerners going with Asians? I must have gotten like 5 or 6 straight up evil stares.

Speaking of picking up, I was at Stompers too briefly, but I left with a very cute Koran girl.

Trust me, we don't really care what you do with your spare time. Despite the fact that you guys think that western girls are disgruntled about your interest in Asian chicks, there are a few of us who would say" go for it" . I have no use for someone who doesn't dig me for exactly who I am.

Honestly? I see other mixed couples SO rarely that I always get excited like a little kid when I see them. I do stare, I can't help it, just because I'm curious about the dynamic (whether they're together for the long-term or just having fun together), but I've never (intentionally) given any a hostile stare.

This could be linked to what I was saying about it seeming hard to meet Canuck boys. I've never slagged them for liking Korean girls or given them a dirty look over it though! I do notice that a lot of Korean girls are definetly interested in western men and probably give them more attention in some cases than western women do.

Its easy to slag frat boy, but he is right. He may be new here, but Ill tell you that in my experience in Korea, western women are bitter about the fact that in this country they have been abandoned. Korean guys dont really go for them, and a lot, if not most of the western guys, would also go for K girls over the waygook women. I have had a few not so pleasant conversations about the topic of interracial dating in Korea, and Ill tell you that western women are more bitter about western guys going with K girls than korean guys are. "Why do you want a token gf?" "cant you handle a real woman?" "why do you like those skinny bimbos?" "yello fever huh?" "shes just using you for english" " race traitor" etc have been some of the idiotic things that have spewed forth from the mouths of western women in Korea.

I've lived in Korea for a year and a half and I've not seen the kind of behaviour as described by either Pootie or Canuck. I've got a lot of male western friends who have been dating Korean women (and one married his girlfriend), and I've never heard them complain about Western women giving them the evil eye or saying rude things.

I myself am in an inter-racial marriage (with a Korean man), so with my western male friends, we often talk about how our inter-racial relationships are going and the problems we encounter

Canuck, I'm not doubting that this hasn't happened to you, I just doubt that it's as prolific as your statement declares. If you could creep a "some" in there amongst the "western women" statements, I could read your posts with a lot less defensiveness.

I've heard western chicks say that western guys who go for Asian girls must have small tackle, because they can't satisfy and hold onto western girls.
I agreed with them, because I was sh*****g one of them at the time. Now that I get with Asian chicks, I'd definitely disagree.

I've never heard my western female friends "be bitter" about western guys dating Asian women either. Actually, we've all spent time consoling broken-hearted western male work colleagues on their Korean girlfriends' parents rejection of them as suitable dating/marriage material once they've finally screwed up the courage to tell the parents. For my western girlfriends, amongst the first to swoop in with flowers, chocolate, and sweet talk are American guys. Just the way it seems to be here. I've had many opportunities to date Korean men too (some of whom are absolute sweeties) but have largely declined due to language/cultural barriers and a business I have to go home to.

Granted I haven't been here very long (4 1/2 months) but the western chicks I know don't seem to care if western guys are going out with korean women.

I'm looking forward to attending a wedding between one of the western guys I know and his soon to be korean misses. I marvel at the fact that two people want to spend the rest of their lives together, just as much as some of my kiwi friends who have tied the knot.

What I have a problem with is guys who pronounce loudly to the world that all they see is the same ugly western chicks while myself and blue flower were working along a hongdae street on friday. Needless to say the losers in question copped an earful from blue flower on the subject, can't remember most of it (as I was drunk at the time) but I hereby nominate BF as a coolest eslcafe chick for giving those losers the earbashing they deserved.

I coming over in about a month and this whole 'Western men dating Korean Women' issue has crossed my mind more than a few times.

I'm single at the moment (didn't see much point in getting involved with anyone again if I was planning on leaving the country!) But maybe I'd like to find a guy for some semblance of a fulfilling relationship in SK. From what I've read Western men seem to go for Korean women because they are very slim, well groomed, and seen as 'exotic' and tend to mostly ignore Western women. I now have this mad idea (based on all the comments made by guys on this board) that all Korean women are stunningly beautiful 'hotties', and that in comparison, Western women are pretty much regarded as 2nd rate.

I have no problem whatsoever with inter-racial relationships. I've dated North African & Turkish men myself, so how could I? I think they can have difficulties that many other relationships wouldn't encounter (cultural differences/language barriers etc) But if two people love each other dearly, and are dedicated to each other, then good for them! A lot of women where I live also have children of mixed parentage. These kids are just as beautiful and precious as any other kids I've seen.

I can however, if I'm being candid (even as a very slim and supposedly cute blonde ) See myself getting jealous of Korean Women, if I find that all of the Western men I seem to find attractive just seem to ignore me and only go for Korean girls.

Please don't chuck any abuse at me. Like I said, I don't have any problem with inter-racial relationships. Would just like to believe that there are some Western men out there who will give an English a chance!! Is the whole Western men & Korean girls thing just exagerrated, or are Western girls just yesterday's news?
