being a vegetable.

I have the "pull the plug" clause in my will, but my family being quite Christian, I hope they wouldn't fight it.

1. Spiders. Not so much a fear as they just really creep me out. If I see one, I think there is another one somewhere on me.
2. Plane crash. Nuff said.
3. Elevators. Since I moved to Korea, I have developed an irrational fear of elevators. Something about the cable snapping and elevator dropping me to my death.

here's a list of phobias (some pretty weird stuff on there- my fave is fear of the naked mole rat): http://phobialist.com/

I only fear one thing now, but it's a bit of a paranoia, so I'll shut up about it....

This is weird, but I think it'd be exciting to die in a plane crash. Everyone thinks I'm crazy, and yes, I have seen the movie (Alive?) about that crash in the Andes. You'd most likely die immediately in a plane crash, so that's why I'm not afraid of it. Dying a long, slow, painful death seems much worse to me- like how some cancer patients, no matter how much morphine they take, they can't get any relief from the pain. *shudder*

Yep, that's one too. Everyone is against doctor assisted suicide until they need it.

Anything that sets off my Vertigo - heights, stairways with lack of handrail or clear space between the steps.

Seaweed. I like eating it but when confronted by it in the ocean it scares the cr@p out of me.

Being beaten up when I've done nothing to deserve it.

Funny how so many of us are afraid of heights/elevators here. Did you develop that fear after coming here, or is it an old thing? Mine is recent.

Ya, strange that Wink I used to be somewhat afraid of heights, having never flown before graduating uni. So in my first year I went skydiving out of a one prop cessna. I am one of those guys who jumps into the cold pool, and doesn't waddle in...

My height fear didn't develop here, but it is fairly recent - I think I've had it for five or six years.... I can't quite remember when it came on, when I was a kid I wasn't at all bothered by big drops, no handrails and balancing on high tree branches on one foot. Now, if an escalator is in the middle of the room with glass side-panels I am scared to get on it.

My fear of heights got worse after I moved here, but the elevator-phobia came only after I moved to Korea. Sometimes it gets so bad that I'll take the stairs 17 floors down rather than use the elevators in my building. It's kind of like this weird feeling that I'm 100% sure the cable will snap.
I think maybe it comes from not trusting the quality of workmanship that goes into buildings here in bbali-bbali Korea.
