We all know there are people on this board who flame constantly and entertain us with their bile and bitterness, they have been named over and over again and they certainly have a place here!
However, there are many people on here who never have a cross word for anyone, PM helpful messages and generally act saintly. Let's name them.
Do you think they are the same in 'real life'? |

I remember reading about 85% of the people on the web are about 90% the same as their web identities, though a little different because it works a bit different than the real world. |

I think Tomato would fit that description. Homer, it seems, is as non-confrontational and willing to put up with as much shit on this forum as he apparently is in Korean society in day-to-day life, if his posts are any indication. Ilovebdt is also one of the most helpful and encouraging people I've come across on-line.
However, given that some of the biggest arseholes on this forum are actually the nicest people in real-life, in my experience, I wonder how often the reverse is true? |

I remember reading that about 80% of people are lighter, younger, more beautiful, have a different marital status, or have better paying jobs on the Net than they do in real-life. |

This is probably in keeping with the spirit of the thread, but tomato makes excellent kindness tables on the internet.
Plus kindness points tomato.

Definitely Doggyji. Even when responding to things that a lot of people would get upset about, he's always cool. And, quite helpful for those of us learning Korean. |

That means nothing I am talking about emotion, ways of speaking, etc. For example, there is a good chance if you are always angry here, you are always angry offline too. Same for being nice, smart, naive, etc etc. |

I think numazawa is the most self-effacing, and justifiably so. |

That really makes the concept of fat old guys who pretend to be teenage girls a much, much more frightening thought. |

Luckily, fat old guys who pretend to be teenage girls is a relatively low percentage of internet users (and people). Hopefully in the future we can make it 0% |

Jinju, Qinella, Guri Guy or me.
But seriously, what about Le Guru? Anyone who thinks he isn't uber-benevolent just isn't smart enough to appreciate his wit. Fucking proles. |
