Here's the gig. My visa ends soon, but NOT my contract. Can I leave, change employers, come back as a tourist with no "problems". I believe the legalities regard your visa expiration, not your contract expiration!!. If you didn't do the math, I changed employers, with a letter of release!!!!, mid'visa....I know I can easily extend visa as its with same employer and new visa for new employer. What red tape would happen if I say left and came back??

anyone been there, done that??

If you visa ends (ARC expiry) then you are free to go and get a new visa (new job) the next day without needing a LOR.

You also MUST leave the country BEFORE midnight on the final day of your ARC or you will be in an overstay position and subject to fine, delays, detainment AND a blackmark in your file.

Your current employer will be pissed but not much he can do except make life hell for your replacement.

Id say your boss wouldnt be very happy. Not sure if he'd go for that. If you had a tourist visa there is nothing binding you to your current job. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to go to immigration and have your visa extended with your current job.

Unless you wanted to quit your job soon....? But also gives your boss the option of firing you at any time too.

What about your bonus? Airfare?

Your boss could say "Didn't finish his contract...screw him".

Not to be mistaken with "WOW he finished his contract...dumbass...screw him"
