Hi there,
I'll be going back to the UK in a few weeks so I need to purchase a BIG backpack?
Anyone know where I can do this? Im in Inchon but Seoul is also possible.
Cheers. |

I picked up a cool backpack in Namdaemoon the other week. It is very light and can easily transform into a crew bag with the handle that you pull, wheels, etc. I love this hing! I bought the medium size one. My wife talked the guy down to 35,000 won. (There is this super large one that is pretty good.)
Check out some of the backpack shops and just look for the tiny wheels on the bottom.
Good luck. |

| I just climbed Jaun Bong today. The whole neighborhood at the Dobongsan entrance (across the street from Dobongsan subway station) is filled with outdoor outfitters, both legit and maybe not so legit. I'm sure there's stuff there. |

I was at Namdaemun on Sunday. I couldnt find any that seemed like the stitching would hold up to years of abuse. Looked cheap and poorly made.
My girl and I went into a legit store - $900 for a backpack. That's so steep its FN vertical.
Anymore suggestions will be welcomed. |

| Among the stores at Dobongsan were North Face, Columbia, Edelweiss, Pamir (as well as, right next door to North Face, the outdoor gear home for soju drinkers, Red Face). I saw a lot of backpacks of different sizes (though I don't know if any were as big as you want). Some of these places are legit, it seemed (Columbia looked very legit). You'd have to poke around and locate the good ones, but it's all there. And almost all of them had sale signs up (for what it's worth). |

Backpacks are everywhere, it really depends on what you want.
large high quality backpacks are going to cost you a good chunk. Top quality like North Face, Alpine Lowe, Jack Wolfskin, Kelty, Arc'teryx, Gregory, Osprey, Columbia and Marmot. 100 - 125 litre packs of this quality will likely be 250 - 400 dollar range.
I would only recomend spending for these if you plan on doing some long treks of hiking in the future.
If its just something to transport stuff back home then don't bother, just get a large low quality bag which you can find pretty much all over the place. |

| Iteawon should have something for you. Travel packs certainly, high quality moutaineering packs not so. I picked up a good one for W35000 last fall and lived out of it for 5 months. |

| Ditto on the Namdaemun suggestion. The main road between Hoehyon Station and Myeongdong has all the shops you'd ever want for backpacking and outdoor wear. Found some good deals on Raichle hiking boots and Gregory packs down there in the last year or so. |
