I am in Beijing now, and heading to Hong Kong to get a visa. I need to buy a suit. So, I am thinking to myself - get it made in China and pay less for Chinese quality...or pay a little more in Hong Kong (or maybe its a better deal over there for all I know) or....just get it made in Itaewon. There are some decent deals to be had I bet.
If I had my choice I'd get them in Thailand, however I'm not there. So, and advice would be nice. Prices and names of places would be great.

Hong Kong for sure! Haven't you heard that Hong Kong is a shopping haven??? Don't have suits made in China. The only thing I have tailor made in China is qipao - Chinese dresses.
Go to Shanghai Tang (I think that's the name) and have one made there. Will cost you an arm and a leg but it will be worth it!
Alternatively, and much more realistically, go to Marks and Spencer's in Hong Kong and pick up a very nicely tailored (and high quality) suit relatively cheaply.
p.s. is there a reason why you want a suit made - other than the fact that it will fit you to a T? |

It depends really.
Normally, though, off the rack is cheaper - the more you produce, the lower the fixed costs, therefore the cheaper the price.
M&S make nice suits.
OK.. I just searched on their website and it says that their suits start from 119 pounds, which is around 240,000 won. You have to pay about 30% more in Hong Kong, so around 300,000 won? |
