Everybody saw the news I assume? The crash was on purpose, to try to make as large a dust cloud as possible to gain a few extra measurements during its last few moment of existence.
More good news: it's September 6, which means that tomorrow the moon will be at its closest distance to the Earth this year, so it'll look extra big tomorrow. 357296 km.
And now, here's the Earth and the Moon to scale, with the distance between the two to scale as well. First small, then big.
