Hello everyone!

i'm looking for a used car. anyone selling theres? i would like to stay under a grand and would like to pay up to 700,000 won. anything lower like the earlier post i would jump on. I'm out in Bundang but can travel to seoul. i know i may have limited luck but i'm not quite ready to shell out more then a grand. i just like to get away from seoul on the weekends. if i paid more then a grand i would just buy a motorcycle. If anyone has any info regarding where to look in person or online it would be greatly appreciated. i know about usfkclassifieds.com. i've seen some cars under 700,000. but i've also seen cars sold for 500,000 won. So that's my target price right now. any help would be appreciated!!

thanks!

I wish you the best of luck. Just remember. the 700 is just the price for the car. Don't forget the registration fees, insurance payment, future repair costs, GAS, etc....

Lots of listings in the free newspapers on the street as well as a few used car lots.

I got my last car from a used car lot for 500k (and he helped arrange the insurance, took care of the registration and paperwork in a painless and efficient fashion) and the car lasted for 4 years with minimal maintainence..

Ask your Ko-co-teacher/worker where to find a car lot or help you cruise the 4-sale ads.

I know there is a huge used car market in Incheon. I bought my car there. Thousands of used cars and many different dealers. Plus they will help with all the insurance and plates. Unfortunately can't remember where it was exactly. Most Koreans will know about it though.

I have a Kia Towner for sale that is 850,000W. I know you were looking to spend 700,000W but since my price is close I thought i'd mention it.
Here are some details:

1996 Kia Towner
5 speed
Moon roof
LPG (22,000W= 420kilometers)
93,000Kilometers
new tires
new timing belt
runs good
crazy paint job

I've owned the car for 8 months and never had a problem. I drove it out of town almost every weekend and even down to Jeju so, it's been very reliable. Insurance isn't bad neither are all the other costs associated with having a car. I'm in Ilsan. PM if you would like more info!

If you are in Bundang do the following;
Get on the subway heading to Seoul, get off at Bokjeong station (sorry forgot the exit number) You need to walk towards the Bundang highway walking through the underpass on the right hand side of the road for about 500 metres. This are is called segokdong (sp). On your right is a number of large of what looks like car parking buildings. IMPORTANT ignore the touts on the road leading to this huge used car market and enter the car parking buildings until you find a car that interests you. If possible bring a Korean speaker with you to negotiate. There are thousands of cars and you can really get a good deal there.

Just a word of warning. IGNORE the people on the side of the road who wil attempt to get you to look at cars through them. They are not affiliated with the dealers and simply call up private sellers who take ages to show up, jack the privce up and attempt to sell you crap.

luck

I'm not sure if this helps, but i have a used donkey I am willing to sell for 300,000 won. The back two legs are broken so I attached wheels. I'm looking into see how much it would cost to install a motor. If I do that, the price would probably increase.

The donkey's name is Violet. It usually sleeps in the shower, and it's diet consists of 20 lbs of kimchi and hardboiled eggs. Favorite movies include "Shrek" and "Tuesdays with Morrie." Daily exercise is crucial; I usually let it run on the treadmill for half an hour. Afterwards, we toss around a frisbee.

If you decide to purchase my donkey, please treat it with respect. Do not hit it, berate it with insults, or laugh at it. It will be loyal and always take you wherever you need to go.

you know what ortiz1029, comments like that do not help any of us. You are an embarassment to everyone who walks this earth. In fact, I would say that your wretched existence makes all foreign teachers look like bafoons.... Do us all a favour and head home.

What's a bafoon? Someone who doesn't know how to spell embarrassment?

This looks like a good place to get some general idea about asking prices for almost any kind of car in Korea.
