With video cards getting larger, consuming more power and creating a lot more heat, it seems that the time is ripe for an external card, no? That would easily allow for a dual-card set-up and cut down significantly on noise and heat issues, which would in turn allow them to run even faster.
I guess it would be too geeky for the general public, and too uncool for the gamers. But I would really like to plug one into my laptop. |

A lot of it has to do with throughput, graphic cards requires tonnes of information to be channelled to and fro, with the existing ports available, none are fast enough for video cards to be portable. |
