I'm in the States at the moment but thinking of returning to Seoul in the near future. I'm planning to live in Bundang (possibly near Imae Station), but I don't have an apartment there yet and I'm curious about what kind of rent I should expect on a 14-16 pyeong apartment. Also, do you think that there would be any chance of getting a six month lease or will I be stuck with a year?

I'm guessing a 6-month contract is out of the question.

Imae is quite a property hotspot now due to it's easy acess to the Pangyo expressway to Gangnam. It's pricey there.

You need to stipulate more details.

High-rise or Villa?
How much key-money can you put down?
Will you drive or use public transport?

Just across the road in Seohyun dong you can get a 19py office tel for 10 mil deposit and 500k per month. Utilities / maintainence fees run about 140-160 per month.

22py in the same building is 10 mil and 600k.

How much of a hotspot are we talking about with Imae?

A standard highrise apartment is about what I'm looking for - just a one room or officetel. I'm thinking around 10 million won for the key money, but, depending on what my company says, it might be more like 5. Don't plan on driving - just public transportation.

Cool, thanks for the info - doesn't sound bad at all. Is that the standard price for the area or is there a specific building I should be looking at?
