It's been another one of "those days"....won't bore you with the details but the final straw was.... I stupidly threw the contents of the sink drain thing down the toilet and blocked it.

Couldn't find a plunger at Carrefour--must be looking in the wrong place. Can anyone tell me how to write or say "plunger" in Korean. I don't think my "miming" skills are that good. |

				| Just go to Emart instead. You've still over 2 hours to get one this evening. |

				"Go-moo-pumpuh"!!

The mom'n'pop stores usually have them, but if you can't find one, maybe some Draino will do the trick. It's easy to find. It has a picture of a drain pipe on the label. |

				| Thanks Spinoza and The Eye. Since Carrefour is just across the street, I tried again. They don't carry plungers so I'll get to Emart tomorrow. |

Do you have a computer printer?

The last time I was in that dilemma, I did a Google search and printed a picture of what I wanted. |

I find the inconsistency amazing here. Our Carrefour has a selection of a bout 10 different plungers

Also, why were you pouring the contents of your sink drain thing down the toilet? and what did you have in there? |

Since two people have already asked, I believe the contents of my sink drain thing included some vegetable pieces that were obviously too big to flush .....or they got "glommed" together in such a way as to cause a problem.

I've been "flushing" the contents of the drain thing with no problems until now .....but it was pretty full this time and I just dumped it. I know....not too smart. |

				| Emptying the drain trap is a bit of dilemma. I've thought about flushing it too, but Korean plumbing is touch-and-go so I decided against it. After all, you're trapping it in the drain so it doesn't go down the pipes and block them. I just throw it in the garbage and I have one of those garbage cans with a top that I keep in a cabinet so it doesn't stink up the house. |

Since it's all food leftovers anyway, I just through it in the compost. |
