I still don't get it. Why do Koreans use slippers in the bathroom? What exactly do they not want to get on their feet? Are they supposed to be used whilst showering, so that you don't slip and fall? Or only for when the floor is wet from the shower, but you don't want to get your feet wet? Or do they think the bathroom floor is dirty? Why would one care (as long as you aren't pissing all over your bathroom floor)?
I've been here for over a year, and it still boggles my mind. |

There you go. Unless one scrubs the bathroom floor every day, lots of mildew is going to accumulate.
(As for the slippers, it's best to ignore the mildew that accumulates there.)

I don't have a shower stall, so I use my slippers when the bathroom floor is still wet. Otherwise, my socks would get soaked. During the actual shower taking, they must remain outside of the bathroom so that they can remain dry. Or at least that's the theory. The gf has a hard time adhering to that in practice. |

I think that it more or less goes without saying. Wet socks don't make me comfortable, so why am I going to walk on a wet floor with socks? |

Proof that foreigners are weird, no. 902: they wear socks at home.

I don't like to get my feet wet. Socks or no socks.
Plus, Korean wear socks at home, too, albeit not socks are you know them - they are like those ankle socks except these are made with polyester for working in...... |

In my case, it helps me from slipping over on the bathroom titles. |

Reminds me of this guy William Miller. He said his Korean wife claims to not believe in fan death, but he caught her using the timer once. tskt tsk! |

Yes, a well-made pair of bathroom slippers gives you much better traction on the slippery floor than your bare feet. I'd wear them for safety. |

Are you talking about the Koreans or the people coming into the country from overseas. Plenty to be found in both crowds. |

I think people wear them cuz they're fashionable. You can get them in an array of colors to suit the palate of your bathroom, or choose a color to suit your personal style. Also, you can choose some that have a character decal, like Mickey Mouse or Peter Rabbit. lol~ |
