Englishdroid.com is a great site, but most teachers in Korea probably won't get a lot of the jokes, which tend to be centred more on working in EFL schools in the British tradition. That is, it describes the experience of being CELTA qualified and teaching adults at at place like International House or English First much more than it describes the experience of most teachers in Korea.
In case anyone is wondering, DOS stands for 'Director of Studies,' which is a position roughly equivalent to 'head teacher' or 'academic supervisor' in Korea, though DOSes tend to be native English speakers who actually have a relatively large amount of power within the school. |
