Hi Guys,

Anyway, just landed with GEPIK and as my apartment isn't ready (lived in Korea 4 years ago so used to the circus it sometimes is) so I have to live with my co-teacher for 3 weeks. Nice lady, nice family really no complaints. However, out of respect for her and inconvenience to me I would like to receive the housing allowance or at least a part of it and possibly share it with the co-teacher. I will email the recruiter and ask him to negoitate this but have a feeling it won't go so well.

Any ideas on dealing with this. Kind of touchy as I don't want to ruffle feathers with the school so early on. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

How are all you newbies in GEPIK making out?

Sounds like a nice thing to do. Your co-teacher should get some remuneration for housing you.

i dont think a recruiter will really care about this, unless you are lucky and found a good recruiter, but that is kind of an oximoron. (dont know if i spelled that right) i would bring it up with your coteacher and have the coteacher address it.

Stop teaching until they come up with some digs for you. Period. You'll be surprised how fast it can happen.

I had to use this method last week about my pay- just told them I wanted my money or I'm not teaching. It works! Try it.
