Does anybody know anything about CDI Institute. They have a great looking website and good testimonials, but I know how much that matters. Has anybody had any dealings with them? And what is going on with the seemingly new availability of research and dev. positions out there?

Just make sure you research the individual branch or franchise first. Some of them can really really suck. Some of them can be really really sweet. Wink Guess which one I got?

How did you like the training and the "smart" classrooms, replete w/ cam and mics? Is there any vacation time where you are?
thanks

With the high quality of this level of research into your potential new school, you will have no worries.

They are all super good with a great program, smart kids, easy work, and honest bosses that always honor the contract.

hmmmm... or perhaps you could try a search?? I got 132 matches and more than 1/2 were things like, "have you heard of CDI?, "what about CDI?", "CDI - good place to work?"

Hey Thanks
I posted again earlier today and somebody else suggested I search for CDI. I did.
Lots of ambiguous info.
Some teachers are in love with the place and some talked about it very negatively. All signs point to inconsistency. It seems that the most poignant reply was to research the specific CDI franchise/branch that is offering the contract. That sounds like it could be fun. Probably not much of a problem though.
The potentilal lack of time off, the late hours, and the three hour classes are the biggest downfalls I see.
all the best to ya

See the blue "Search" link at the top? Click on it and enter CDI. You will find more than enough information on what people think about CDI...

DCJames - maybe it was a timing issue... I didn't look at post times either this time. In the post right before your reply I indicated that I did a search, and my reflection on that search. I'm not lazy, just didn't think about it at first.
I've been off Dave's for years. I forgot some things... like how helpful people are and such.
Thank you

Alabamaman -
Thanks

MAneedspay, I'm sorry I called you lazy.

I hope you find the right job, whether it's at CDI or elsewhere.

Good luck!
