Regular kimbap costs 1,000.

Kimchi kimbap costs 2,000.

But when you buy regular kimbap it comes with kimchi on the side. Am I missing something?

I've never received a side of kimchi with my k'bap.
I'm still trying to find a place that has tuna AND kimchi TOGETHER on the menu. That, i'd gladly pay 2,000 for.
I've tried asking them to do it, but it always leads to more trouble than it's worth.

Interesting. Everytime I go to a boon-sik (분식) like Kimbab Nara or Kimbab Chungook or The Ajumma Cafe, they always give the radish and kimchi side-dish combo with a bowl of soybean soup (not stew) -- no matter what kind of kimbab I order. Maybe different here??

I get the same. They'll even give you the stuff to go if you want.

After investigation, I have been told that kimchi in the kimchi kimbap is special. In just what way, however, is apparently a secret.

It's like a recess piece (sp?). They have those commericals where they dip a chocolate bar in peanut butter, but it's just not the same Wink

The regular jukseok kimbap is ghetto. Don't put it in your mouth. And like what laogaiguk said.

You can ask them to make it like that, but expect to encounter some resistance - 'but it isn't on the menu!' Take in a kimchi/chamchi samgak kimbap to demonstrate that the concept is possible. Persistance is important, and threatening to show them how works too.

Getting a veggie-only kimbap is what I've always done. And not that putrid salad kimbap, I mean regular veggie-stuffed kimbap with no ham, egg, or imitation crab. It's damned good that way.

Go to Family Mart and buy 참치김치 triangle kimbap. It's awesome.

Some of the 김밥나라s or 김밥안마s or whatever sell both together, but they cost three times as much as the triangle stuff.

Why buy 라면 at a restaurant? That's another issue worth debating.

I used to buy ramen back in Japan all the time. I bought it here, thought cool, then saw them open a pack of noodels and dump it in. I thought, k, no prob, just this place. I then started to realize finding homemade or fresh noodles is not as easy as I though it would be.
