TELL HIM THAT ACCORDING TO KUMARADIVELU (1994) WE ARE NOW IN THE POST-METHOD CONDITION OF LANGUAGE EDUCATION AND THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS A FLEXIBLE, HEURISTIC APPROACH INFORMED BY SLA THEORY.

And it's the CallaN Method. Try googling it.

Basically it's just audiolingualism.

I've read it's good for total beginners to learn some structures quickly, but it fails once students get past an elementary level.

On a related topic, has anyone tried the new Pimsleur Korean course?
I had the old 10 lesson set, but it was too basic to be really useful. I'm curious what people's impressions of the new course are.

There are two Callan Schools of English in Oxford Street in London. From what I heard from students who have studied there, apart from those schools being cheap, it is just repeating and listening.
Here is a link to a demo class in a Callan school:http://www.callan.co.uk/callanschool_student_pgs/callan_english_lessons_video.php
