If you see this film, you can brag that you have an open mind. I got a bootleg at Yongsan. I saw the film. I have an open mind. Nyah.

It was a blockbuster in Turkey.

The film is about Turk operatives infiltrating Irak and taking out an American administrator who insulted them. Billy Zane is the sadistic American who lies cheats steals and brutalizes but prays to a 6 foot crucifix before doing so. The American contractors are all white trash with Billy Ray Cyrus haircuts. American soldiers kills children for minor infractions at wedding parties. They kill grooms too. The ones that didn't get too smeared during the slaughter are sent to Abu Graib to have their kidneys stolen. The Jewish doctor (Gary Busey) complains the bodies are too beat up to harvest usable organs.

The Turk operatives are far more skilled at warfare than the American contractor bad guys. The three of them kill the Americans with .45's. The Americans can just blow up Mosques but can't fight in a real fight.

CONTROVERSY OVER TURKISH MOVIE
Beyond the Valley of the Wolves
By Cem zdemir

The film "Valley of the Wolves" has sparked mass hysteria in the Turkish community. But behind a classic battle between good and evil lies a dangerous agenda, writes EU parliamentarian Cem zdemir in his review for SPIEGEL ONLINE. The movie's goal: divide and provoke.

Apparently, anti-Americanism sells well in Korea if Yongsan vendors have bootleg copies of this obscure movie.

Its not a big seller, you really had to look for it and it wasn't for sale at the Iteawon racks.

The fact that it's there means someone asked for it. I bet you'd have a hard time finding one of Luis Bunuel's films. Better yet, I challenge you to find some episodes of the TV show MASH.

This is old news but still...

Are they really going crazy over this in Turkey? A bit like the Scots over Braveheart and America over Rambo back when that first came out?
