I want to leave for Korea next April/May. So, is it a good time to land a job? Should I try another time in the year? |

Assuming you are looking for a generic hakwon (language institute) job, April/May is as good a time as any. If you are looking for a job in the public schools or universities, the semesters begin in early March and late August. |

Does GEPIK, EPIK, or SMOE hire new teachers en masse for the semester starting in March (I'm thinking of applying in January of Febuary), or would I have to wait until the fall semester is about to begin? |

April is an excellent time to start!!!! the only month better would be in March.
I was looking at new positions this spring and started mine in late April and had tons of offers to consider, including several from public schools in dire need to fill quotas and replace last-minute dropouts. Took a hagwon job I liked instead, but there certainly were plenty of positions in the public schools in late April.
Plan to come in April. You will have plenty of choice. |
