I like Bearshare and Limewire. The downloads come very fast. I haven't had any problems with viruses. Good stuff.
I was just wondering if there are any other good software?

| It's not a site, but Soulseek is still pretty good. |

| Limewire... but I've been seeing too many of those stupid www.buylegalmp3.com ads at the top of all my searches. If I wanted to buy legal mp3s, I wouldn't be using Limewire, now, would I? |

If it ain't on Limewire, it's on Soulseek - but never the reverse in my opinion.
Those two for me. |

| Bit Torrent for now, but I'll have to give the above a try, I guess. |

OiNK is probably the best torrent site.
Soulseek I think is a primitive p2p but it has the goods. |

| Yeah Soulseek gets slow transfer rates (fastest I've seen, and this is rare, is 40kbps) but it's a good place to find semi-obscure stuff. Sometimes even really obscure things. |

| I think I've downloaded every possible song I ever wanted. But I do use Soulseek to occasionally tease out what not. I stay away from Bearshare and Limewire. Maybe they've reformed their ways but they were major spyware installers. |

The problem with many services (Kazaa / Bittorrent / Emule) is that loads of the people hosting files are either:
A) Dumb, so share broken or crappily recorded files/songs, or
B) Server farms setup by the RIAA or MIAA that share intentionally broken files/songs so as to increase your likelyhood of having to muck about finding a real file, which is tedious.
That's why I like DC++ as all the other users are geeks. Geeks care about the quality of their shares, and as it's not as popular, the RIAA/MIAA don't have any farms setup.
Additional MAJOR issue:
In many countries (Canada, UK, etc) it's not illegal to DOWNLOAD (for personal use), but it is VERY ILLEGAL to UPLOAD (share)
Most torrent-like services force you to share a file as you download it, thus forcing you to break the law. DC++ allows you to share certain files, so you can share legal stuff (shareware files, certain TV shows etc) but download anything.
Clearly in Korea this isn't an issue, but back in the real world it's something to keep very much in mind |

This is not the case with bittorrent, sorry you are lumping it in with the wrong crowd dodgy |

I'd have to agree with skconqueror on this one. A good BT tracker has (either private or public) has comments sections which serve as feedback as to the quality of the files. Some tracker's mods will even delete crap uploads (skipping, re-encodes etc). Occasionally one will slip through but in general it's 95% all good. |
