so i downloaded movies from lime wire but they wont play on my updated quicktime for mac.... (i have panther 10 or X)
i also have dowloaded the dvix player and it doesnt want to open with that application!!! also downloaded gom player and the same deal it wont open in dos mode (which i dont even know what that is!!!) and yes i downloaded the mac version..
i also downloaded a mac vcd thingy...im very confused and totally inundated with stuff but none of it will open my tv shows....if it helps the message just say "movie file cannot be opened"
so can someone very apple savvy let me know how i can change this so i can watch lost/the simpsons and movies that i have downloaded

This will work.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
Make sure you get the right one for your version of Mac OSX and follow the install instructions and you'll be right.

if VLC does not play it then it can not be played, that thing will play anything, nice small basic program that everybody should have a copy of. even plays .bin, .iso partial .avi you name it |
