Last semester I had lovely cleaners for my classroom. They were friendly, did a good job and always came on time. My new lot, in comparison, are pretty useless. Yesterday they didn't show up at all, and then today they turned up and tried to tell me they'd been excused. However, a short trip to the teachers room sorted that out. Then I had to teach them how to dust..... |

Wow, you are lucky to get any cleaners. In my Korean schools, I've always had to clean my own classrooms. Once, I got caught spitting on tissue (I was about to wipe a table with it) and had to pretend I was phlegming up a la Korean style. Vomit and pee - I've had to clean it... |

This is an interesting topic. I teach at a public school as well and the kids come a few times a week to "clean" my classroom. The usual group does such a horrid job, I complained to their homeroom teacher.
The funny thing is that after vacation a diffrent group of kids came and they cleaned the room really nice. The other day, the other group (that just pushes the shop vac and mops around) came back. Needless to say I told them just to sweep the floor and let them leave. |
