Thanks to a tip from Tiger Fancini, I had a look inside this place, and thought I'd post a little review, and hear about other experiences to decide whether it would be worth another visit.

Atmosphere:
I came in with a friend on a Friday afternoon, and found the place almost deserted. It's a spacious place with a brass-taps-and-wooden-floors sort of feel to it. Mandatory Guinness posters on the wall? Check. There's a choice of tables, with high stools and comfier chairs with backs. We enjoyed the dart board, and the music was excellent. Good volume and great range of styles and time periods.

Service: Surprisingly bad. As I said, the place was near deserted, but even then it was difficult to flag down one of the two people behind the bar to obtain a drink. The young Korean girl was pleasant, but the red-headed guy caused my friend to bristle a little with his apparent ambivalence toward serving drinks.

Menu: The food looks to be terrific for most people who miss a taste of the Isles. There's also an all-day breakfast that looked quite appealing, though I don't know how early this place opens. I wish I'd taken a closer look so I could report with some more specifics. The prices were not unreasonable, at a par with Gecko's, for example. I ordered an "Irish Wolfhound" cocktail, hoping for something rough'n'tough. Instead I got a slushy chocolate shake, tasting something like Baileys and Creme de Menthe, topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, a cherry and a little sprig of something green. Not quite the effect I was going for.

So, what's it like in the evening? Had any similar experiences with service? Who are the characters behind this venture?

a good thing about the place is that it has Miguel on tap. The food I have had there is good but expensive; had some split pea soup for 8,000 won.

It has 4 owners, 3 of whom had worked at Geckos.

The owners work behind the bar and are not to sociable.

It was opening at 12, but now opens at 4PM and at 10 AM on weekends.

I have to agree with the OP about the service, I walked out one day after waiting quite a spell and there were only a few folks in the place.

Well I hope they will be successful Itaewan needs some more good places.

3 Alleys has San Miguel on tap, too. 3,500 for 450ml. Not bad.

So far, this doesn't sound like a good place.

Anyone else been there yet?

I was there last weekend. Didn't have any food, but the menu looked like it had a good selection. Service is subpar, but I don't think it was as bad as others are saying. It has a good music set-up. When I was there, they had a sale on Guiness and Jameson (don't know if that's still going on). This bar has a very good feel to it, except for the wait for a drink. Definitely worth a look-see.

It's a good bar...service could be better. Itaewon needs more of these establishments.

Well actually, the pubs in Ireland are not Irish pubs but just pubs. Bit like the Italian icecream in Italy
