Just curious. The first day of classes at my school is Friday, Aug. 29.
I think it's bizzare to start on a Friday (but it's K-land so I'm not surprised  );and I don't really care because I'm off until Monday, Sept. 1. |

My kids come back the 28th. Me - the 1st of Sept - as I don't fly back in from my two weeks in NZ until early morning 29th.

| Monday, August 25th, but I'm not starting until September 1st. Despite already having agreed taking vacation in the last 2 weeks of August, I bet they wonder why I'm AWOL come the 25th. Yes, I'm sure they will forget I'm not to start until the 1st. I seen my liaison co-teacher last Friday and she mentioned our start on the 25th and was confused when I said no I wouldn't be there despite us having talked about my vacation a couple times before. That will be interesting to come back and they act like they thought I ran off. I just know it. |

| I had no idea that PS started the same date(s) as Universities. I thought they started later. Maybe it is because I see tons of ads for PS on the job posting forum. Seems pretty late in the season to be posting for teachers. |

Yes, but they know they can't possibly fill all the vacancies; so, it doesn't really matter - the hiring process is continuous and ongoing.
I think it's hilarious to read a job advertisement on Aug. 4 that states the applicant must be in K-land by Aug. 25 for orientation... Sept. 25 (maybe). |
