|
|
Hi, I know similar questions have been approached in the FAQ but I'm still unsure what the answer is.
Long story short, it now seems I can't get my official degree certificate for several months yet, despite having graduated in June. I do have several official 'pre-graduation' certificates, confirming I have finished all necessary exams and got my class, but since I haven't yet attended the official ceremony they won't give me the proper certificate. The university also will provide any letters to confirm completion and I have sealed, official academic transcripts.
Can anyone say if this be sufficient to get an E-2 visa? I'm in the UK at the moment and will check with the Korean Embassy, yet I was in the middle of preparing to head to Korea and go on a visa run after getting a job... I'm uncertain of how restrictions might differ between embassies? |

The answer is probably "yes," but did you ask your university to rush your diploma?
I had a job lined up right after graduation, and I needed my degree ASAP. I went to the registrar's office and told them my situation, and they gave mine to me within a week. Give them a call and see if they can put yours at the front of the list for printing. It's worth a shot. |

The answer is most likely no.
They require the original degree or a notarized copy of it. A letter or a certificate from a university does not fly with Immigration. That is what they told me when I asked at least. |
