Hello,
What are my options if I want to learn Korean in Chuncheon? Is it possible to enroll in beginning Korean classes at one of the National Universities?
Thanks everyone. |

Gangwon National University offers Korean classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:20am to 11:00am.
Hallym University also offers Korean classes, though I'm not sure of their days and times for this semester. Last semester they were Tuesdays and Thursdays, if I remember correctly. |

I always wondered who on Earth is making those schedules?
They should provide options for working people, same as hagwons provide for working adult students.
Been here for quite a long time and I could never fit any of the classes in my schedule. |

I agree. If you look at some of the university schedules around Seoul they're like 10am-1pm, or 3pm to 5pm. Even with a split shift schedule, no one can really hit those times. I'd really like to enroll in a course. I'm pretty sure I could handle my full time job and a 3 hour class. Bummer |

I agree and wish that the provincial universities offered evening classes -- but unfortunately for us, they are targeting foreign university students and not working foreign professionals.
A good alternative would be to find some like-minded and like-scheduled people to band together and hire a Korean teacher or charter a class. |

| I took the Kangwon uni classes while I was working there. That was a long time ago now...back in '97 to 2000. They were fairly useful, but a one-size-fits-all situation leaves anyone in the upper levels pretty much teaching. |
