I'm trying to decide between a 30" LCD monitor and a 32" LCD TV for movie watching, apart from the size are there any advantages in using an LCD TV for watching movies? Like do the images come out sharper/better?

I've read about composite and DVI and most people say that DVI produces far better quality, but when I look at my LCD and notebook LCD they don't look as bright or lively as composite (TV out). It is also easily to spot pixelation.

Can any video guru help?

Go with the LCD-TV.

Technically speaking, the LCD-TV will look better due to the output being optimised for SD/HDTV sources.

From a purely resolution/response/contrast point of view, the monitor should beat the pants off the TV.

It'll vary from source to source, but if you're viewing video, then component into the LCDTV should be perfect.

I use a Dell 26" LCD TV as my monitor. I have it connected through DVI and it works great. It automatically audjests if I use a program with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

I do tonnes of movie watching via torrents, and play a reasonable amount of games. I am very happy with the set up and would totally recommend doing the same with a 32"
