I'm flying out for my first TESL job at the weekend and, from the point of view of a man with long hair, I'm just wondering what I'm letting myself in for. Anyone have any relevant experiences they'd care to share? |

I'm sure you will be fine. I thought they would be more conservative out here as regards work attire, but most things are let be, within reason. If you have any facial tattoos, though, I would see the laser removal guy. |

You want to make a good first impression; i'd take the cautious route with Koreans. All Koreans have military experience and can respect a shaved head. I suggest you do the same. |

I carry a British passport, but my people are from a place so insignificant that nobody has bothered to make fun of them. |

Depends on your school but I think if you keep it neat, washed and cared for well you should be fine. I have a friend who has long hair and he has never had any trouble. He said they tease him a little but he dresses well and takes his job seriously so it doesn't seem to be a major issue. |

Not, Wonderland, no, and no tattoos or piercings of any kind. Despite my eighties-esque heavy metal hair, I'm fairly staid and sensible, really.
And hey, take the liquid waste out of Scousers all you like - I'm only actually from near Liverpool and would probably be considered a Woollyback. 'Ey, la'. |

I'm a scouser working in a public school in Korea. Before I was working in a hagwon in Daegu with another two friends from Liverpool - we had all the kindies and elementary students talking scouse! So, come over - the more the better. |

One thing about Korea that I still can't deal with (being a Liverpool supporter) is the proliferation of Man Utd shirts everywhere. If you don't mind that then you'll be alright. |
