|

So I remember last year or so there was a bit of a fuss about some foreigners and some koreans and a wet t-shirt competion or something in Hongdae and it ended up on some website.
Anyway, apparantely if there's no foreigners involved its ok to not only have a wet t-shirt thing going on, but to in fact go even further. From Iceberg Korea:
| Quote: |
...Suddenly, as the song approaches its end, the woman lifts her top over her head - exposing her cosmetic surgeons handiwork. (Job well done, Dr. Kim). As the audience expresses its approval, the woman shirt in hand glides off the stage. Another female contestant walks out; this time with partner in tow.
The music starts up again and, unlike the previous dancer, the young couple waste little time disrobing. The man takes off his shirt and lies on the floor and the woman sits on top of him. They squirm around for a few seconds before the woman removes her shirt and bra. After another minute or so of simulated sex the woman stands up. She takes off her shorts and panties and again sits atop the man on the floor this time in the position of, um, lets just say its a certain number. You know it, the number that every overweight beer-guzzling first baseman in slow-pitch softball leagues wears. The woman removes her partners jeans and they proceed with their show. The crowd goes wild.
Sound like another wild night in Hongdae? Think again. This scene occurred in a Korean-style booking nightclub in the quiet little town of Yeosu last Friday night. And outside of myself and a co-worker, there was not a single Westerner to be found in the club.
Hongdae, you aint got nothin on Yeosu.

I guess we're all lucky the guy getting 'numbered' wasn't a foreigner eh. I hope the morality police crackdown on this filth.
PS I think theres a low quality video at the site mentioned above.

It's no secret...but Koreans like to think that this kind of stuff is secret....
You could go to a booking club in Suwon called Juliana that would be full of conservative guys and girls and on Friday night they'd have prizes for girls that stripped on stage. Booking clubs are drunk sex clubs in a very thin disguise....many even have rooms with hookers on the second floor and most have hookers placed within the crowd.
p.s. why do you hope the morality police crackdown on this? You can go to booking clubs all over Seoul and see this stuff. There was talk about the police cracking down but really......(yeah right). There's tons of this kind of stuff under a thin veil in Korea but it's like a kiddie pool compared to what's under Japan's thin veil.
I couldn't believe that some of the girls I've dated actually liked booking clubs and didn't they there were any problems with these "shows." But, is there really a problem with it? I guess because there's a double standard.
I'm waiting for the first person to chime in with, "we should alert the international media to shame Korea for it's hypocriticism." The thing is, most decently educated Koreans understand the hypocriticism and don't buy into lame tabloid stories. |

Why? Are you facist? Morals should not be enforced by the state. If you don't like it, don't go. I'm sure you can find Disney movies to watch in Korea.
What you should say is "I hope the police crackdown on excluding foreigners from these events." |

| yup, the morality police is bad media. The media does report illegal sex parties and child prostitution in Korea but things like this are so commonplace....what would be the point? |

yep, you have to throw a couple of foreigners into the mix to really get the moral police out in force |

I don't think the police were involved in the "english spectrum" scandal were they? |

I think it's all very exciting.
It's not a double standard if you have a woman of your own race do it in the club with you. They just don't want any guys except Koreans doing it with a Korean woman. However, if a woman of another race did it with a Korean man they'd be all excited about it. Therein lies the conundrum that many foreign men are perplexed by in Korea.
Fine with me, I'll just keep it all in my room. Same thing, without everyone watching! |

If people enjoy entertaining each other in such manner let them.
We know that foreigners are weighted on different scales then Koreans, but that is because Koreans probably play their own game better then the foreigners.
Also Korea would prefer not to be considered a Sex exporting industrie like south east asia countries. Thus any abuse by foreigners will be strongly punished, compared to Korean abuse of exactly the same thing.
I prefer to think if that is a room full of consenting adults, why bother complainng about it.
The only problem i would have is if anyone would be there against their own will, then it becomes a corrupt situation. |

Some netizen by the name of 'calpis' went to the police station in Ilsan demanding they do something. He was told to bugger off. I'll look for the pic of him I saved at the time. |
