So, "Boston Legal"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402711/
season three, epsode one was screened in the states last night.
Candice Bergen said and I quote (obviously she was reading from script)
"The truth is organ sales are happening anyway, would you like a kidney? I can get you one in Brazil for as low as $3000, in the Philippines for $1800, I can get you an achilles tendon in South Korea for anywhere between 200 and 1200 dollars."
Is this true? I personally doubt it. Will there be a netizon backlash originating from the states? That I don't know either but one thing I do know is that in South Korea 200 to 1200 dollars is not a lot of money so I find this statement hard to believe. Hard to walk without the ol' achillies....

I wonder if the show has "Fact Checkers" to verify it's claims.
I wouldn't doubt the blackmarket trading of body parts in Korea considering there are so many poor Koreans and many Koreans in very bad debt..
That's one of the depressing things about this country, many Koreans will do ANYTHING for money. |
