My friend Ellen is a Chinese teacher and she is trying to get some information. She works in Mokdong and is going home to get married next week. She would like to bring her husband back with her. From what I understand he needs a work visa to be able to come here.

We have tried to find a job for him on the internet but we have had no luck! He graduated from university with a bachelor's in business management. He can speak some English; however, he does not speak Korean! He is 24 years old and has been a high school teacher for one year.

Does anyone know of a recruiter for Chinese teachers or of a hagwon that is interested in hiring one? She isn't asking for a hand-out, just a little help on what to do. She misses him very much. I think it would do wonders for her to be able to bring him back with her. Thanks in advance for any advice.

If your friend is on an E-2 visa (which I would assume if you she is a language teacher), then I believe she can bring her spouse in on a dependent spouse visa (F-3). I don't think there is a nationality requirement. My husband is here on an F-3. However, he could not work legally.

As for teaching, I belive your friend would have better luck finding institutions that teach Chinese if she works at one. How did she and her friends get work?

Thanks for the reply. She was told by immigration that since he is from China he needs to be employed. They said it has something to do with the "quotas". She found her job through the former Chinese teacher at her school. They are friends and the former teacher wanted to go back to China.

Poor girl, I think he can't speak Koreanand a little English, it is almost impossible for him to get a teaching job in Korea.

If your co-worker is in Seoul and she is looking for a job at a hogwon for her husband, she can make up a resume for him and then go around Jungno, there are so many language institutes and some that exclusively teach Chinese.
Just make sure he can speak pure mandarin and have no hint of an accent.
My ex-wife went job hunting there when she was in Korea and alot of them complained that she spoke with a Taiwanese accent (though she was from Fujian Province and was educated in Beijing where her father was assigned as a member of the Chief of Staff in the PLA)

Thank you to the people who responded with helpful advice. I am in no way trying to take advantage of anyone. What in my post could possibly be construed as a scam? I am only trying to help out a friend.
