When: September 25 - September 28. 2006
Costs: None (Pay for your own expenses incurred on the trip)
Bikes: All Engine Sizes
Sign-up by: Friday (Midnight) First come, first serve if the group exceeds 5.

This will be my third national tour of Korea by motorcycle. If anyone here has the time, September 25th is the departure date from Seoul at 9:00am sharp. The trip will cover many of the big cities. We will move from Seoul on Highway 6. We will then continue South on Highway 7 along the East Coast. From Pusan, we will take Highway 2 (West). This is a scenic tour that will cover mountain ranges (Seorak-San, Jiri-San) and some seashore. Cities to be visited include: Kangnung, Gyeongju, Pohang, Pusan, Jiri-San, Gwangju...and maybe Jejudo). On our way north back to Seoul, we may take a faster route or take it easy, visiting such places as Daebudo.

Riding starts from the early morning (6:00am) into the afternoon. We will stay in each destination (town or city) all afternoon and evening for food, drinks, and photos.

Based on weather conditions, we will be using tents, motels, and Jim-Jil-Bangs.

All interested riders need to submit their names by Friday no later than midnight. Your bikes will need to be checked out by a mechanic this Saturday and pass. A Sunday prep ride will be scheduled on Highway 47 (north), 46, 37, and 6.

For the National Tour of Korea, we will use the space on our bikes to carry equipment for this trip (including tents, stoves, fuel, and cooking utensils). Please have a sleeping bag.

If you are going tandem, your bike needs to be at least 500cc.

All nationalities welcome.

I thought about the long weekend of Chuseok that goes from Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. But...the traffic congestion into Seoul on Sunday will be...bad. Bad for miles...

Anyone interested in the Chuseok long weekend, even though the traffic will be terrible on the last day?
