Ok, I woke up this morning and my internet (cable) mysteriously disconnected itself. The Cable light on the modem is not on. I tried shutting it off and taking out the cables that go into the modem and the back of the computer didn't do anything and hooking them back up.. I'm currently using Linux based off a CD because my hardrive went Kaput. So, I have no idea how to manouver through the menus to check things out. Any ideas?

With a hard drive failure, you have no windows and no networking. I assume you are using windows as your main OS.

If you are using linux as your o/s then you have another can of worms to deal with. There is NOT enough information here to assist you.

I was just using it temporarily as an O/S using a CD. I figured as much, I will go out and get my new harddrive and put Windows on..

It works now.. I think it was the company, because my computer has been shut off since last week and when I came home today the modem was lit up normal. Very weird.
