I was talking to some people who are now teaching English in Korea and I am getting mixed signals on this.
Ok, back during the immigration audit last fall (September to December), every FT had to go to immigrations with their degree and a "Degree Verification" form that had the email, website address, actual address, tely number, etc. for their graduating uni.
Well, we all had to fill it out or miss out on getting our visas extended.
Out of sh^ts and giggles, I asked my newbie friends if they had to fill out the form to get their ARC.
Well, I got mixed responses on it, some of them had to while some of them just filled out the application for their ARC.
What about the rest of newbies in Dave's Land?
Who had to fill out the Degree Verification form and who didn't to get their ARC after January?

I went to immigration in Seoul last December.
I did a year, and came back to Korea in August. At immigration in Gwangju I had to fill out the degree verification form again. |

| I filled it in last year, wrote a real address but not a real phone number or email because I didn't have them to hand. Never heard anything back. Got a new visa in March, same deal - form, but I didn't give the right info because again I didn't have it on me at the time. |

filled it out in Dec, got a new job in Jan didn't have to fill it out again. HOWEVER when I went to get my visa in Houston they wanted my original diploma, told them I didn't have it (it was here in Seoul), they did want a sealed transcript.
when I got back my univ wanted all the info that form contained more because of an idiot who fooled our univ and they got fined by immigration
In Aug when my wife came back, no forms whatsoever and she didn't fill out the form in Dec, so far no problems |
